Acts -- Errors 705-711

#705

Acts 10: (KJV)

38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

No “the” in “the Holy Ghost”.

# 706

Acts 10: (KJV)

37 “That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”

Compare to Luke 1: (KJV)

15 “For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.”

The “Luke” that wrote Acts 10 says Jesus received holy spirit at his baptism. The “Luke” that wrote the infancy narrative says that Jesus was already full. Good evidence that when Acts was written there was no infancy narrative. Marcion’s version of “Luke” also had no infancy narrative. Unfortunately for us, while Mr. “Someone” was writing an infancy narrative for “Luke” another Mr. “Someone” was “unwriting” whatever Marcion wrote.

# 707

Acts 10: (KJV)

40 “Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;
41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.
42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.”

“To him give all the prophets witness”? What group of writings is “Luke” referring to? It sure as hell can’t be the Tanakh.

# 708

Acts 11

11 “And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me.”

The manuscript evidence supports “where we were”. A majority of moderns have the “where I was” above which was likely a change to get the quantity to agree to the “me” at the end of the sentence.

# 709

Acts 11: (KJV)

16 “Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.”

Compare to:

Luke 3: (KJV)

16 “John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:”

It’s bad enough when different authors contradict each other, now you have the same author contradicting herself. Luukee! Ya got sum splainin ta do!

# 710

Acts 11: (KJV)

24 “For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.”

No “the” in the Greek.

# 711

Acts 12: (KJV)

1 “Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.”

Somehow “Herod” has managed to achieve eternal life without believing in Jesus. This King was Julius Agrippa I. He was a grandson of Herod the Great, but is not referred to as Herod anywhere outside of Acts. I think “Luke” liked the idea of “Herod the King” continuing to persecute Christians.

Closing Of 1001 Errors In The Christian Bible And Merger With Tektonics.org

AR:
A few weeks ago I saw Mel Gibson's new movie (forgot the name) and then re-read "The Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ". For the first time I understood how Jesus suffering for a few hours on a stake thousands of years ago explained why most of my innocent relatives were tortured and murdered by Christian Nazis over a 5 year period.

My good friend, Rabbi Singer, head of Outreach Judaism, had the same experience so we began to study JP Holding's website, Tektonics.org, together while periodically
rereading Isaiah Chapter 53 in light of the new information which this website provided us and avoiding Fiddler Zvi's Messiah And Tanakh web site. It wasn't long before we found the truth that we were looking for, that Jesus Christ was the prophesied Jewish Messiah according to the Tanakh. Hallelujah Amen.

Effective immediately 1001 Errors In The Christian Bible will be closed and then merged with Teltonics.org as an evangelistic tool.
