John -- Errors 544-550
#544
John 5: (KJV)
30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and
my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of
the Father which hath sent me.
There is no father anywhere in this sentence in the Greek.
A majority of moderns have father somewhere in this sentence.
Probably the best translation is the one who sent me. Does
that sound like a literal family relationship?
# 545
John 5: (KJV)
46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for
he wrote of me.

# 546
John 6: (KJV)
42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose
father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from
heaven?
Apparently Johns Nazoreans never heard of Matthews
virgin birth story.
# 547
John 6: (KJV)
54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal
life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
A majority of moderns translate eat (eateth) but the underlying
Greek word was primarily used to describe animals eating and has a cruder
connotation than eat such as gnaw, munch
or feed.
# 548
John 6: (KJV)
57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father:
so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
Same mistranslation for eateth.
# 549
John 6: (KJV)
69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the
Son of the living God.
The last part of the sentence should be the holy one of the God
based on the manuscript evidence. A majority of moderns get it right except
none translate the the before God.
# 550
John 7: (KJV)
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of
his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
