Acts -- Errors 647-649

#647

Acts 1: (KJV)

2 “Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:”

No “the” before “holy spirit” in the Greek.

# 648

Acts 1: (KJV)

4 “And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.”

Compare to Mark 16: KJV)

7 “But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.”

“Luke’s” Jesus tells his crew to tarry in Jerusalem. “Mark’s” Jesus’ crew is told to go to Galilee for further instruction.

# 649

Acts 1: (KJV)

5 “For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.”

The underlying Greek for “baptized with the Holy Ghost” is “but you in spirit will be baptized holy”. This straight forward translation makes perfect sense as is so there is no logical reason to put the Greek “spirit” and “holy” together to force the “holy spirit” in there and make the verse say something it doesn’t say. Every translation I’ve seen has this error.
