Luke -- Errors 397-403
#397
Luke 18: (KJV)
31 Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold,
we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets
concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.
32 For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and
spitefully entreated, and spitted on:
33 And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day
he shall rise again.
Mark and Matthew lack the and all things
that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.
Possibly because none of the items mentioned by Luke are mentioned by
the Prophets and all of the things mentioned by the Prophets are not mentioned
by Luke.
# 398
Luke 18: (KJV)
35 And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho,
a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:
Compare to Mark 10: (KJV)
46 And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with
his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son
of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
Luke sez they were coming, Mark sez they were
going, so the Christian Bible doesnt know whether they were coming
or going.
# 399
Luke 19: (KJV)
44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children
within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another;
because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
False prophecy.
# 400
Luke 19: (KJV)
45 And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that
sold therein, and them that bought;
46 Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but
ye have made it a den of thieves.
47 And he taught daily in the temple. But the chief priests and the scribes
and the chief of the people sought to destroy him,
48 And could not find what they might do: for all the people were very
attentive to hear him.
First Luke describes Jesus as breaking the Law by preventing
required sacrifices then Luke creates the unbelievable story
that such an act would be tolerated by the leaders or the
people and that Jesus would be permitted to teach afterwards
in the Temple.
# 401
Luke 20: (KJV)
1 And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught
the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and
the scribes came upon him with the elders,
Compare to Matthew 21: (KJV)
23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and
the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By
what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?
The implication from Luke is that this story was not on Jesus
first day teaching in the Temple while the implication from Matthew
is that it was.
# 402
Luke 20: (KJV)
1 And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught
the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and
the scribes came upon him with the elders,
Compare to Mark 11: (KJV)
27 And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in
the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and
the elders,
Lukes Jesus was teaching at the time while Marks Jesus was
walking. Proof that Cool Hand Luke and Marky Mark can talk the talk and
walk the walk.
# 403
Luke 20: (KJV)
9 Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain
man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into
a far country for a long time.
Compare to Mark 11: (KJV)
32 But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all
men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.
33 And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering
saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
12: 1 And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man
planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for
the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went
into a far country.
Lukes Jesus spoke to the people at the same time that
Marks Jesus spoke to the leaders so Jesus must have
been speaking out both sides of his mouth.
